Thematic Dictionary

1. After completing the Research Report, students work with their partner to create a Dictionary.
2. Students create the Dictionary by listing the 10 most powerful words used in their Research Report. Students need to put the words in alphabetical order, provide a definition of the word, use it in a sentence, and include an illustration (if possible) of the word.
3. Students will create a cover for the Dictionary and they will be displayed in the classroom library as reference materials.

Individual Research Report

• After completing this unit, students can complete the next Research Report without a partner. However, the teacher must still scaffold the “Writing a Research Report” steps.
