Follow-Up Focusing on English Learners and Word Learning
- Students write a paragraph using a select number of Flash Card words. The paragraph must be meaningful and demonstrate that the student can apply the word in a meaningful context.
- For the Flash Card Multiple Meaning Game, students can create cartoons that show the different meanings one word can have. This is especially helpful to ELs as it simplifies the complexity of the certain vocabulary words including words such as right (right handed versus right triangle) and left (left handed versus “I left my bag in class.”)
